Critical Role Campaign 4 Reveals the Soldiers Group

Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a wide array of personalities, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, demons, and malevolent powers expanding in strength within the urban setting.

Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season follow below.

The Soldiers Table Unveiled

Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and revealed the premier party of characters who will branch out from the primary party to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.

This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

With a large ensemble, it was clear from the outset that maintaining everyone at one table would be unfeasible.

That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Seekers.

What Defines the Warrior Group

Per the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.

At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might seem mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.

Reasons to Leave

To begin with, the team knows exactly where to head next after a intense initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.

A former ally of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the narrative’s action—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, striking Thimble, and stealing all the enchanted items to sell off.

Casimir then settled his liabilities and fled to a secure base in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.

Personal Motivations

Secondly, each character has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:

  • The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
  • The adventurer has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a nasty place.
  • Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
  • But, their status as prominent individuals in the influential clan could assist the team enter locations they normally couldn’t.
  • Additionally, The fighter vowed a eternal obligation to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.

Wanted and Hunted

Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:

  • Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
  • The warrior and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
  • Teor is targeted for elimination by the clan.

This leaves them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in quest for Casimir.

Future Episodes

From the latest episode’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the rest of the cast members to form the Questers and Schemers parties.

Viewers can look forward to learning which adventurers will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, released on October 24.
